Ashley Doggett

As an artist, my stance is not only as an image maker; I am a historian, an archiver, a collector, and an educator. With every raise of my wrist delicately or roughly to a canvas, I am creating work that speaks to both shared and interpersonal experiences. These experiences, whether accepted or not, occur and spark our conversations and train of thought for however long.

The pieces within Heed pay homage and speak to the current time we live in; one that has been wracked by harrowing occurrences and strife that will be documented and spoken of for ages to come. The world stage has been forced to come to blows with systemic racism and injustice, both of which can no longer stand without a valiant fight against it.
